There is a lot of help available for older people and their families in the Shropshire area. Here are some links that you may find useful:

Age UK Shropshire Telford and Wrekin aims to enable older people across the region to make the most of later life. Their website contains a wealth of information, advice and fact sheets.

Shropshire Partners in Care is a not for profit organisation representing over 240 independent Nursing, Residential, Supported Living and Domiciliary Care companies in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin with responsibility for providing a wide range of care services and support for those most in need.

Shropshire Dementia Action Alliance is made up of organisations that operate across the county and are working together to create dementia friendly communities to improve the lives of people living with dementia and their carers.

The Alzheimer’s Society provides practical and emotional support to people with dementia, carers, relatives and friends of people with dementia. Dementia Support Workers are able to offer home visits county-wide. The Alzheimer’s Society also runs groups across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. Healthwatch Shropshire provides people with a powerful voice locally and nationally. Locally Healthwatch works to help people get the best out of their local health and social care services, with the aim of ensuring that patients and the public are at the heart of decisions about service delivery, improvement and change.

The Shropshire Community Directoryproduced by Shropshire Council, Shropshire Care Information Providers and Self Help Shropshire is  a comprehensive database with information on local community groups, clubs, societies and organisations. 

Shropshire Seniors have set up forums around the county, providing a voice for older people.

Dementia Action Alliance brings together organisations and individuals across England committed to improving health and social care outcomes for people living with dementia, and those who care for them.
