Dementia Care at the Uplands

The Uplands at Oxon has two dedicated dementia units with 40 dementia nursing beds in total. The dementia units provide evidenced based nursing care for patients within an environment specially designed for people with dementia. The staff provide activity-based person centred care, and within each unit there are special sensory and relaxation rooms.

Coming soon – Dementia Day Care Centre

A brand new purpose built specialist Dementia Day Care Centre providing support for individuals with dementia-related illnesses will be opening adjacent to the Uplands in summer 2010. Offering activity based care, a gym, hairdressing, bathing facilities and set within safe and secure grounds, the Centre will be open Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm.
